We are very proud to announce that guitar player Ruud Jolie has been added to our growing list of amazing musicians participating in this project!
Having been awarded no less than 19 gold- and platinum-selling albums and 6 TMF Awards, Ruud is most definitely a valuable addition to Breaking the Chains, where he will not only be playing guitar but will also participate in composing the songs.
Ruud is most famous for being a member of one of the Netherlands greatest music-related export products – Within Temptation – which is one of the most prominent female-fronted symphonic metal bands all over the world.
The list of awards they have claimed is endless: Conamus Exportprijs, 3FM Award, Edison Award, TMF Award, World Music Award, MTV Europe Award, and many more!
Besides Within Temptation, Ruud is also the guitar player of the bands Maiden uniteD and ForAllWeKnow. With the latter, he is currently working on a new album, for which a Indiegogo campaign will begin soon.
Q: What is the reason for you to join the Breaking The Chains music project?
A: I think it's always great to collaborate with different musicians. Not only for the musical aspect, but also for raising awareness of a cause like this one. So it's a win - win situation for me.
Q: What will be your contribution to this project?
A: I will play guitar on this album. I've also contributed a song. It was a very old song that I wrote about 10 years ago but never found its way. Until now...
Q: What can we expect more from you this year other than BTC?
A: Within Temptation won't be touring this year so I will have a lot of time to do other projects. I love doing all kinds of stuff. At the moment I'm finishing up the recordings for the second ForAllWeKnow album. Kristoffer Gildenlöw plays bass on this one as well and he did an amazing job again! It will be released later this year. I'm also working on some new ideas for my acoustic Iron Maiden band Maiden uniteD. We'll be doing a very special gig in Koninklijk Theater Carré in January 2018 (Maiden uniteD at Carré), so that takes time to prepare. And hopefully some other projects will cross my path...
